Sumisip, Basilan- The Provincial Department of Interior and Local Government (PDILG) conducted Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) dry-run validation for Sumisip Municipality, Basilan Province on August 16, 2018 at Municipal Complex, Buli- Buli, Sumisip, Basilan Province.
About three (3) personnel from the DILG and the Municipal Department heads joined together to review the governance performance from the month of January 2017 to present of the Local Government Unit of Sumisip.
The SGLG is annually conducted by the national government through the PDILG to determine the performance of the Local Government Units (LGU’s) both the national and local LGU’s on how they govern and execute their mandate. Likewise, this is also a tool to exhaust ideas and wisdom on how to further improve governance down the line also to answer or to reply the delivery of basic social services to its constituents.
The Municipality of Sumisip is a recipient of last year’s SGLG award. So the joint team aimed to evaluate if the municipality’s performance still upholds its mandate and will still be an awardee of SGLG-2018.
